How does the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) work?

The most common topic these days is the LHC, is this gonna work? Are we all dead once it starts colliding particles? How secure is it? What about if something goes wrong? Well, I’m not physicist nor an expert but I don’t understand why so many people are so worried about the possible end of the world or a global disaster. Well, I do know why. The reason is the misinformation. Two scientist have claimed the worst possible end basing their claims on air. And the 99% of the other scientists are really expecting the results of LHC. Don’t let them frighten you, an experiment of 6000 millions € is not a we-can-try-this-and-see-what-happens! If you do believe this experiment is gonna creak us, then, clear your mind up and try to think as if you are Sarah Palin… She thinks God is the creator and that dinosaurs existed 4000 years ago (remember that 5000 years ago God created the earth and so on) so you won’t be concerned any more, because this experiment will fail for sure, it’s science. If you haven’t notice, I’m being sarcastic.
Either way, here you have a video about how LHC works, very interesting, I think everybody should take a look at this, LHC could be an authentic revolution…

El LHC no començarà a treballar fins el 11 d’octubre tot i que s’esta posant a punt des del passat dia 9.
En vistes del post, potser ens podries explicar això:

Hi sweetie!
I just wanted u to know that I’m really freaking out… coz I’m becoming a freak! oooh yeah, I even could say a geek!
coz I woke up this morning at 8 o clock, and I got to the computer by 10… and I’m still here! I’ve updated my blog, checked my emails, updated my facebook and linked it to my blog… god, it’s exhausting to be a geek!! how do u manage to survive? I really wanna know!:P

Well, in fact, when you heard protons will take an hour to go all the way around the ring was because when they switched the LHC on it wasn’t working at the highest speed. They were just testing if all went right. When the time comes, they will speed up the particles as the video says hehe
And yeah, you’ve got a point here, too much money to be wasted in such a nonsense if this doesn’t worth it. I’m positive that everything is double checked to make sure nothing wrong is gonna happen
I’m also waiting for some results, they scared me though. Our physical model could fall down so easily…! But we have to keep in mind that even if the actual model is wrong, the worst thing we will have is new theories, that indeed, those would be better than nothing

Well well well… I have another post! but I don’t like it at all, I got bored writing it… cause in fact there’s nothing interesting, just my experiencies as an undergraduate…
