Chapter 2 - Our wordpress uploaded in a hosting

You’ll learn how to host your wordpress in a hosting reading the following lines

First of all, we need our blog code. So, go to Wordpress.org and click on the download.zip:

Don’t worry, you do not need to know programming, it’s all kind of authomatic

Nowadays, the current version is wordpress-2.5. However, this guide is based on wordpress-2.3, which is the wordpress I’ve got installed. But no problem, it’s kind of the same. If you prefer wordpress 2.3, I’ve uploaded it to megaupload, so you can download it here.

Once you’ve got wordpress.zip, you must unzip it. I recommend you to create a new folder in your system for all files we are going to use.

Then you will see that you’ve got ‘wp-admin’, wp-content’, ‘wp-includes’ folders, and about 20 files with wp- prefix in your folder.

Now, you have to make an important decisión: you’ve got to decide which hosting will host our files.It means, which Internet server will have our blog.

There are a lot of hostings, and if you are a ‘fish’, I would recommend you to choose a free one. Why we have to pay money if we are starting? It’s a nonsense…Even though, this is up to you. You can search in google for candidates.

Here I leave you a list where you can choose one of them (read on to know what a free hosting must have):

A free hosting for our wordpress must have support for PHP version 4.2 or greater, MySQL version 4.0 or greater and (optional) Apache mod_rewrite module.

If you don’t know what it means, or if your hosting doesn’t support this requirements, ¡do not worry!

I strongly recommend you my free web hosting: 000webhost. Why? Because it’s very reliable and secure and have all the requirements needed. Moreover, it has 250 MB of disk space and 100Gb bandwith. And what is most important for me… It has neither banners nor ads…!

So, I’ll go on with this guide using 000webhost. Of course, you can extrapolate the acknowledgement acquire here to others free hostings. Click in the banner below if you want to sign in 000webhost, so you can get started in a few seconds;)

First of all, we need to sign in, so click in the button order now at the top of the main page of 000webhost.

Then, fill the gaps with the information required. If you don’t have a domain, just choose a free subdomain (I recommend this option), and your blog will be: http://FreeSubDomain.890m.com

You have to activate your account. Remember to check your spam folder in your email account if you don’t received the activation email. After that, you can log in your free hosting (from now on free hosting or 000webhost are going to be hosting). You have to go to the main page and click on the link client login, at the bottom. You should get something very similar to the following pict:
